Web Design—How Do I Stand Out From The Competition?

Setting yourself apart from other competitors is always the goal in mind when thinking about your website. You want a memorable website after all, and you want your clients to see that too. Having this in mind is the right idea, but how do you put it into action?

Engage Your Audience

One of the first things that are going to impact your clients is the layout and style of your website. Your potential clients don’t want lines of paragraphs with a picture or two. They want to be engaged and hooked to explore your website. Having multiple pages for your clients to check out is a good way to do that. Keeping a consistent look and feel to your website is important, but you also don’t want it to get boring. Keeping common themes and elements but changing the way you layout other individual pages can keep your website refreshing to the eyes.

How Would You Want Your Site to Look?

What do you, as a website user, do you look for in a site? Putting yourself in your customer's shoes can give you an understanding of features that they would want to find in your site. Everybody is different, so why not try to explore as many options as you can to add to your site! Adding advertisement videos, pop-up coupons, or fun graphics can help differentiate your site from the others.

Less is Better!

When scrolling through the information on your website, clients don’t want to read a novel about your brand. You want to grab their attention as fast as possible, but to keep them coming back. This concept also applies to your design. You don’t want to overwhelm your viewer with pop-ups or an overload of pictures, videos, graphics and content. Spacing out your information leads your customer through your website and takes them on a journey through your brand instead of scaring them away.

Make Sure Your Site is Running!

Having a beautiful and informative website is great, but it doesn’t mean anything if it's not working. To stand out from the competition, you want your customers to have a stress-free, memorable experience. Making sure your site is up to date and functioning at its best capabilities will help you do that! No one wants to be stressed out trying to navigate a website, so make it easy for the client to explore your page!

All in all, it's important to keep your brand as exactly that, your brand. Customers will be drawn to authentic and genuine brands, and will always come back for more.
